Peter Jackson, Hollywood Walk of Famer [20141208] - super image-heavy!

(Please give credit where credit is due.)

It's The Hobbit week in Hollywood! I've been preparing my heart for this for years. Even the best things do not - cannot - last forever. And now, here we are... the final movie in the Middle-Earth saga.

But before that, let us honor the man, the hobbit, and the wizard who made it all possible. Sir Peter Jackson. To be awarded with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame a day before the LA red carpet premiere of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, it is such an honor to witness that in person.

And to think I wasn't even supposed to go. XD I was already taking the day off for the premiere but when they announced this... I was ready to sacrifice. Until I read the guest list. My eyes zeroed in on one name... Lee Pace. The other names in that list were Orlando Bloom, Richard Armitage, Elijah Wood, Evangeline Lilly, and Luke Evans. Luke was a no show though. Some of the NZ crew were also in attendance. Andy Serkis gave the speech.

Orlando Bloom, Hollywood Walk of Famer. (So image-heavy. So goooood!)

And I was there to witness this special occasion.  April 2 is officially "Orlando Bloom day" in Hollywood!

My mom was there with me; her first star ceremony.  We were there bright and early.  I planned for this day since the announcement and it was so worth it.  I did have to go to work later that day and by the time I got home, I was exhausted.  I totally planned to post pics and video right away but after being a hobbit standing behind ents with cameras, my arms weren't listening to my brain anymore.

They actually gave us wristbands before going into the fan area.  That's new... at least for me lol.  Sometimes, I want them to do that just to weed out the actual fans from the "business" people.  Or as one of them said, "this is a hobby."  Well Mister, for some, this means so much more than making a few bucks.

It's quite interesting and infuriating to listen to some of them blab.  They keep on blaming security for them not getting the good stuff or singling them out of the crowd.  (I totally would if you're the only grown ass man in a mosh pit of female teenagers.)  I mean, I get it that this is sort of your livelihood or hobby but some people have waited literally half their lives to catch a glimpse of this celebrity in person. You're taking up that precious spot for him/her. Sure you know how this waiting game goes and how it works but you don't have to be a bitch about it. Some of them spoil it for everybody.

My target spot was the seating area behind the guests.  In the past star events I've been to, those areas are filled with other celebrities.  But we ended up behind the space where the professional photographers were standing... with their step stools and equipment.  At first, I was getting a bit upset.  I didn't wait for hours just to have my view blocked.  But I thought hey, there is a reason why that area is there.  It had the better vantage point vs from behind the guest area and at the very front of the fan line.  It's in front and to the left of the podium.  I could definitely work with that.

I was the first one who saw Orli.  Yes, always. ;-)  I squealed an embarrassing fangirly squeal which set off all of the girls and women behind me.  It wasn't as chaotic as in Marvel premieres; you can't help but be speechless at his good looks lol.  Jerry Bruckheimer was there; oh my CSI heart!  Forest Whitaker was there to make a speech (Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior anyone?) as well as Romeo and Juliet director David Leveaux.  But the #1 guest there was Orli's little boy, Flynn.

I managed to get his full speech while taking a ton of pictures while he was giving said speech.  But the sweetest thing ever is Flynn.  He didn't make a peep and just stayed with his dad the whole time.  The love between the two...<3

There's nothing more to say when it comes to these events, unlike premieres.  But I should say that Orli's is one of the most intimate that I've witnessed.  His sister Sam and father Colin Stone were there.  Mom couldn't make it.  It was just family and some friends.  I was hoping some of the Rings people would show up.  At least Jerry Bruckheimer was there.  There were rumors that Johnny Depp might show but Hollywood Blvd. has enough Jack Sparrow impersonators lol.

It's a photo dump after the cut.  And oh, speaking of the harming kind of cut, I will hurt you if you even think of stealing any of my photos/video.

PS: His star is located between Madame Tussauds and the TCL Chinese Theater.

I feared that Orli's going to get his star while I'm out of the country.  Not gonna happen!

OMG.  I WILL BE ABLE TO SEE IT EVERY TIME I GO TO HOLLYWOOD!  *flails*

And also, is it too much to ask for a little LOTR love?  ;)  Viggo Mortensen, hinthint.

Hannon le! Hannon. Le.

And the Best Picture goes to...

The selfies to end all selfies.  It sure crashed Twitter, I'll give you that.

Let's play HOW MANY OSCARS IN ONE PHOTO?  I count... 10.  TEN, people.

Buuuut, I'm thinking this picture is better, personally:

Someone is conveniently hidden by Miss Lawrence's face and Mister Hoult is included in the frame.  And I'm loooving Miss Roberts' face here.  Lupita's brother is winning it all.

OMG, can you imagine if Mr. Cooper fcked this up on live TV?  They'd have to do it again!  XD

I watched Non-Stop yesterday as the Oscars was airing.  Academy Award Winner Lupita Nyong'o was there as well was Lady Mary lol.  It was a fun movie.  Sucks for me though; I'll be taking an international flight in a few weeks.  OTL.

When I got home, I was browsing my Twitter feed and I kept seeing my nickname, spelled correctly.  So I was thinking, "Hmm... what gives?"  Then I remembered CATE BLANCHETT.  Ah joy!

I'm happy for all the people who won.  (I sorta didn't want JLaw to win.  Idk, shrugs.)  I was particularly excited for Lupita.  There was no doubt in my mind that Frozen would win Best Song and Best Animated, although we had to sit through Queen Adele Dazeem's inability to keep in time with the backing music.  Srsly, Travolta, WTF?  I still have to figure out what the "10 years in the future" means but it's cool, it's cool.  The Lady Galadriel... guh, haven't you noticed that none of the LOTR actors actually age?  Something in the Middle-Earth water perhaps?

But just when I thought I was all cried out over that epic selfie, I see this:

My heart aches for Orli.  ;_____;

Leo, not so much anymore.  How many Academy members do Leo and Amy Adams have to bribe in order for them to finally win that statuette?

PS: I find it funny that Hustle didn't win anything.  It was such a confusing piecemeal of a movie.  I just didn't see anything that merited the praise.  Amy Adams was awful when her character switched accents.  Jennifer Lawrence was simply not right for the role, the character being super out of place.  Renner was my favorite thing in that movie and he acted like an idiot.  XD

PPS: Robert Lopez got an EGOT.  Ayan ha, walang angkinan.

PPPS: I am Catriona Thozomas.  I feel that there should be a Battlefield Earth joke in here somewhere.

Happy Birthday, Orli!

Wishing this hawt creeper the happiest of birthdays!

I pretty much flailed when I saw his beautiful face alongside the adorable-ness of Nicholas Hoult during Jennifer Lawrence's Golden Globe win last night.  I could not deal with such perfection in one frame.
