My Best ELF Haul To Date!!!

In the past, I've scored great deals when shopping at eyeslipsface.com.  $10 hauls, free shipping with $25 back... all those wonderful stuff that virtually give you your order for free.  I held on to my last $25 gift card for the perfect moment - mainly, another one of those awesome "buy $35 get $25 back" promos.  But during their anniversary celebration, a deal came up that I just cannot refuse.

It was the 50% off ALMOST everything sale.  All items that are $3 and up are 50% off and on top of that, spend $40 and get free shipping with no coupon.  Aaaaand, I have that $25 on standby.  My mind went into shopping overdrive.  It's been a while since I made an ELF purchase and something told me that it was the perfect time to do it!

Here's the class photo (and yes, that is my actual bedspread lol).  If I were to purchase this full price, the total would be $79.  But with everything except the zit zapper (I always include one with every purchase) being half-price plus my $25 gift card, my total savings come up to... $72.  According to my invoice, I incurred $3 sales tax bringing my grand total to... $18, out of pocket.

Not bad.  Not bad at the slightest bit.  XD

Review: 2nd Love Signature Lipsticks

Happy Valentine's Day!  I don't care if you celebrate or not, I hope you feel so loved today and everyday.

A few weeks ago, I received a massive (for me, anyway) shipment of makeup from three companies: BH Cosmetics, Coastal Scents, and 2nd Love Cosmetics.  I've been playing with them and I especially love the blushes and lipsticks.

I have not heard of 2nd Love Cosmetics prior to IMATS 2014.  I was curious about their line, especially their lipsticks.  The colors looked nice and for a very reasonable price.  I decided to pick up their Signature Line lipsticks for starters.  They have another one but I'm not a fan of glitter on my lips.  But who knows, my love of lip products knows no bounds.

I chose 5 shades from nudes to violets.  Surprise, I don't have a red!  Maybe next order? ;-)

The packaging is rather bulky but not inconvenient.  I love that you can see the actual color/product an the bottom.  I wonder if they are like similarly packaged NYX round lipsticks where you can remove the bottom for extra product. I haven't attempted to jimmy it from the tube lol.  I actually like the packaging as a whole.  It's sleek and cute.  The fasten between the tube and the cap isn't the strongest but if you keep it in a secure place in your bag, it's not coming loose.

Somebody stop me!

Or not.  LOL.

When the deal is good, my self-control goes out the window.  OTL.

The total tally now over this past week:
  • 14 lipsticks (not including the 4 lip color pans from the "Forever" palettes)
  • 6 eye palettes
  • 28 pans of blush (if counted individually, per color)
And this is just from my online shopping.

What does one do with all these makeup?!  Idk.  XD

(I swear, this blog is NOT turning into a beauty blog.  I will have some variety soon.  Just bear with me, okay?)

HUGE MAKEUP HAUL.

This is what a post-IMATS funk looks like.

Release an unsuspecting girl into a Mecca of makeup.  Introduce her to different cosmetic brands that are not widely available.  Arm her with discount coupons just for attending IMATS.  Leave her to her own devices once she's dropped off at the respective companies' websites.

Over the weeks after IMATS, I ended up ordering so much stuff from three companies:  BH Cosmetics, Coastal Scents, and 2nd Love Cosmetics.  Coastal Scents wasn't at IMATS but shopping at BH Cosmetics gave me the idea to head on over there too.  I found a postcard from 2nd Love Cosmetics when I was clearing out my IMATS bags.  I was curious enough to check them out and I liked what I saw.

The control I had at IMATS disappeared when I got home and began shopping online.  And I'm a sucker for free shipping so I had to purchase $50 worth of goodies to get that.  2nd Love only required $25 so that wasn't too hard.  Anyway, I made the orders within a day of each other and they arrived over the weekend.  It was a late Christmas for me!

Both the BH Cosmetics and 2nd Love Cosmetics shipments came from Los Angeles so they arrived at the same time.  Coastal Scents arrived the day after.

2nd love cosmetics

2nd Love Cosmetics: Five colors of the 2nd Love Signature Lipsticks and Beauty Treats lip scrub.

BH Cosmetics

BH Cosmetics: It'sJudyTime palette (my mom loves her), BH San Francisco palette (I have the Malibu palette from IMATS), Daisy and Tulip blush duo, 5 Creme Luxe lipsticks, 1 lip liner (for my mom).

Coastal Scents

Coastal Scents: The Sweetheart Collection - Revealed Palette, Citiscape Travel Brush set, 10 Blush palette (when I got the BH Cosmetics blush palette, I sort of got obsessed with blush palettes; I had to get this) + samples, liquid liner, pink kabuki brush.  All these for $25.  I paid shipping for this because Coastal Scents don't have lipsticks.  I could've gotten some Forever blushes but with two 10-pan blush palettes already...?  Some other time.

Expect posts about the lipsticks for sure.  I've been swatching and trying them and so far, I'm really liking it.  I'm so excited to use the blush palettes.  Those BH blush duos are winning me over already so I do recommend them.  The best deal of the bunch is that Sweetheart Collection from Coastal Scents.  I checked on the site now and the brush set alone is now worth $20.  The Revealed palette and the blush palette together just sealed the deal for me.

I really should do a makeup purge soon.  Soon.

IMATS 2014 HAUL and REVIEW: Lime Crime Lipsticks

I gotta admit.  The first reason why I decided to line up at the Lime Crime booth at IMATS was because I wanted that shopping bag.  That huge green and pink shopping bag that everyone was toting around.  I knew what Lime Crime is but I'm not too familiar with their products.  And someone asked me to get something for them.  The line to Lime Crime was LONG and the line to pay at Naimie's was even longer.  It took about an hour or so out of my day.  That's okay though.  Now, I wish I knew better.  I would've gotten more stuff for myself.

Lime Crime is known for their lip products.  They offer rich and very opaque formulations in the most outrageous color selections.  They have a black, YELLOW, blue... a unicorn is the perfect logo for their company.  Very vibrant and colorful.

I bought two of their opaque lipsticks.  I was "researching" right there at the line.  My friend wanted the Velvetines but because I'm not a fan of matte lips, I needed to look up their lipsticks.  I picked two relatively "safe" colors from their selection and man, I really wish I had more time to decide!

I got me some favorites, Geradium and Retrofuturist.  These two jumped at me from the swatches I saw in blogs and the swatches I made at the booth.  I'm trying to build my pink lipstick collection and red is always a good one to have.

Their packaging, from the box to the tube, reminds me of MAC lipsticks.  They even smell like MAC lipsticks, an overly sweet vanilla scent that quickly goes away.  The tube is shaped like a bullet in bright neon purple with holographic designs.  The cap lines up with the base to display the complete design.

I have to admit that I'm not a fan of the tube.  It seems a little tacky to me but hey, to each her own.  It doesn't really bother me but I guess where MAC is serious and editorial, Lime Crime is fun and quirky.  I mean, it is cute, don't get me wrong.  It's just... not my cup of tea.

But who cares about that.  It's what's inside that matters right?

(I should add that one of the cutest thing about the packaging is the inside of the box the lipstick came in.  While the outside and the tube is in this neon purple shade, the inside is in the color LIME!  And here I was thinking where the "lime" is in this brand.)

IMATS 2014 HAUL and REVIEW: NYX Chunky Dunk Hydrating Lippies and Butter Lipsticks

How overwhelming was IMATS?  Especially for a first timer like me!  I did not know where to start let alone where to go next.  Honestly, I thought it was smaller than I expected but there was so much stuff at such great prices, I had to stop myself from spending a ton!

One of the places I frequented was the NYX booth.  They had a large selection featuring their whole line and reasonable prices.  I know you can get NYX at Ulta and Target and is essentially a drugstore brand, but $2 off is still $2 in my pocket.  I spent some time swatching and I walked away with six lip products for $25.  And I think one of the products I picked up is not even officially released yet.

"Introducing" the NYX Chunky Dunk Hydrating Lippies.  I swear, it's not even on the website as I compose this post.  The butter lipsticks are there as well as the new palettes but not this one.  Not a single review either.  (Dear NYX, if I'm not supposed to do this yet, please let me know.  Thanks!)
