My Best ELF Haul To Date!!!

In the past, I've scored great deals when shopping at eyeslipsface.com.  $10 hauls, free shipping with $25 back... all those wonderful stuff that virtually give you your order for free.  I held on to my last $25 gift card for the perfect moment - mainly, another one of those awesome "buy $35 get $25 back" promos.  But during their anniversary celebration, a deal came up that I just cannot refuse.

It was the 50% off ALMOST everything sale.  All items that are $3 and up are 50% off and on top of that, spend $40 and get free shipping with no coupon.  Aaaaand, I have that $25 on standby.  My mind went into shopping overdrive.  It's been a while since I made an ELF purchase and something told me that it was the perfect time to do it!

Here's the class photo (and yes, that is my actual bedspread lol).  If I were to purchase this full price, the total would be $79.  But with everything except the zit zapper (I always include one with every purchase) being half-price plus my $25 gift card, my total savings come up to... $72.  According to my invoice, I incurred $3 sales tax bringing my grand total to... $18, out of pocket.

Not bad.  Not bad at the slightest bit.  XD

Review: ELF Studio Lipsticks and Lip Balm Tints (and the best time to make an ELF order).

In 2012, I made a huge ELF haul and paid only $10.  It was worth $35 and I got a $25 gift card with my order, hence, the $10 price tag.  I waited for the right time to use it.  Since ELF's decision to offer free shipping for orders $35 and up, I figured I only had to pay $10 to avail of it.

Towards the end of 2013, I wasn't feeling up to buying makeup.  I felt like I already have all I needed and none of the new stuff appealed to me.  I skipped the Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals.  Until... deja vu.  ELF offered yet another $25 gift card with a $35 purchase.  With using my existing gift card, the whole order ended up being technically free.  And I had $15 back!

There are some repurchases and some new products.  I've been eying those lip balm tints for a while now and I had to include them in a big enough order.  Those studio lipsticks are new and I just had to.  Lawd know how many lippies I already have lol.

Again, it was exactly $35, free shipping, paid by gift card so my out of pocket expense was $10.  I picked up a single eyeshadow (Pebble) and a brush (studio blush brush) for my mom also.  I always include a zit zapper in every ELF order.  I picked up a single eyeshadow (Sunset) for myself as well.  My brow kit in Medium is nearing its last legs so I got a backup.  And I finally repurchased my favorite blush of all time, ELF Studio Blush in Blushing Rose.  I broke my previous one while in the Philippines.  This color is not available in any Target near me so I had to wait until I had enough for an online order to pick it up again.

I've enjoyed the lip products from ELF.  They are good quality no matter the price tag.  I prefer their balms and sticks over their glosses though.  I admit I gave some of the $1 lippies from my last ELF haul away but I'm really curious about this studio line lipsticks so I grabbed a bunch of them.

HAPPY FIRST ANNIVERSARY, 오렌지 키스!

Can you believe it?  A year!  Yay!  I've kept an LJ blog actively for five years in the past but I was a kid.  I didn't make sense half the time and honestly, I didn't always knew what I was talking about.  It was also very random but what makes 오렌지 키스 special is that I'm more focused here.  I feel and sound smarter.  And I am more passionate about the many things I fawn over.

So thank you for staying with me through the makeup reviews, looks of the day, Korean topics, geeky stuff, rants, and all the other randomness at 오렌지 키스.  Please look forward for many more to come!

An extra Look of the Day picture after the jump.  Rocking the blue eyeshadow for the first time.  I like it a lot.

Look of the Day [20130629]

Yesterday was bittersweet.  It was the last day of my Korean language class.  I do get my Saturdays back but I did look forward to my Saturdays because I get to go to school, speak and learn Korean, and be in Old Town Pasadena.  Saturdays is also when I go on my book runs.  I drop by 2-3 used bookstores and get away with 4-6 books.

I will still be continuing with my Korean languages studies.  I have books for self-study and the progress I made in that 6 months have been very positive and it opened my eyes that I can do it.  I've had instances where I used that knowledge and that keeps me motivated.

So yeah. 거맙습니다,김선생님그리고 Pasadena Language Center!

I am starting to feel summer.  I mean, really feel it.  It's time to wear shorts again!

Outfit:
  • a shirt from Joe Boxer (one of my favorites)
  • shorts from Calvin Klein (I love CK bottoms - has nothing to do with 탑 though lol.)
  • Daddy's Money shoes from Ross (I call them my GD shoes and they are extremely comfortable)
  • Coach bag
  • Forever 21 shopping tote that holds my Korean books
  • Marc Jacobs watch

Makeup:
  • Lumene VitC+ BB Cream (this stuff is amazing)
  • ELF Mattifying Face Powder
  • ELF warm bronzer
  • Wet n Wild brow kit
  • Wet n Wild eyeshadows (I used 3 colors from 3 different trios, can't remember lol)
  • Physicians Formula pencil eyeliner
  • ... I cannot remember which mascara I used lol
  • Missha The Style Defining Blusher in Baby Coral
  • Missha M High-Glossy Pure Lip Rouge in GOR01 Overjoy
  • Maybelline gloss in Captivating Coral

Look of the Day (20130427)

Yesterday was a beautiful Spring day.  But hey, I wore black and red.  XD

My Korean class was 재미있어, as usual.  This is the one thing in my week that I genuinely look forward to and am excited about.  My teacher and I talked about that... that this is the one thing I do for myself and not because I have to or it's my job.  Plus, I pay for this.  I have to enjoy it, right? ㅋㅋㅋ...

I love wearing dresses.  I don't have a lot though.  I'm very picky when it comes to dresses.  I am on the heavier side (more then than now, mind you) so I have some places to hide or disguise.  But I love this one from Cotton On.  And I got it for $5 at the Camarillo Outlets.  The sandals are from Sam & Libby (Ross, actually) and my bag is from Juicy Couture that I originally got for the BIGBANG concert.  The black bangle is from Forever 21 that I got when they had their uber sale.  I think that went for $1.99, idek.

Also, Saturdays is the one day of the week when I can be more adventurous with my makeup.  Some weeks ago, I went with blue mascara.  This week wasn't that loud though.  It just felt a bit... dark.  LOL.
